“Curso inglés para servidores profesionales de alimentos y bebidas”, como su título indica está dedicado a los profesionales que prestan servicios en el sector de alimentos y bebidas (Bares, restaurants, cafeterias, etc.), el cual le servirá de apoyo para su superación idiomática, facilitando así la comunicación con los clientes de habla inglesa que visitan las instalaciones turísticas.

El curso hace un énfasis particular en las dos habilidades fundamentales a desarrollar en los trabajadores del servicio o sea escuchar y hablar. El objetivo fundamental del curso es desarrollar la habilidad para comunicarse de acuerdo a la situación, propósito y papel de los participantes.

El curso contiene 14 unidades divididas en diferentes clases, el número de clases para cada unidad varía de acuerdo a la complejidad de los temas tratados y del mayor o menor número de horas que se le dedique a la práctica de dichos temas, los cuales se centran en las características del enfoque comunicativo. Además el curso enseña al estudiante como usar las frases más comunes para cada una de las actividades que realiza en el desempeño diario de su profesión.

Para facilitar el estudio de este curso se ha dividido el proceso del servicio en diferentes pasos fundamentales, cuya solución desde el punto de vista lingüístico se ha convertido en el objetivo fundamental del presente curso.

El curso comienza en sus primeras unidades con aspectos relacionados con la información personal y otros temas de importancia para la comunicación casual, en caso de que esta se le presente, como son aspectos relacionados con el tiempo, la hora, las direcciones y otros aspectos de información general que debe dominar en caso de que se le pregunte.

La metodología fundamental del curso consiste en la repetición continua y sistemática de situaciones donde deban aplicar las diferentes frases aprendidas para solucionar cada una de las necesidades lingüísticas con la que se encuentran en cada uno de los momentos del proceso de servicio.
